1. General Information
This Privacy Policy defines how personal data is processed within the Saskano.lv platform for reconciliation of companies’ balance sheet balances and account turnovers (hereinafter – the System).

The System enables reconciliation of accounting balances between companies and facilitates the preparation of documentary evidence required for independent financial statement audits.
2. Purposes and Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
Personal data is processed for the following purposes:
2.1. Ensuring the Operation of the System
To provide balance reconciliation functionality between a company and its business partners.
Legal basis:
- Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred as GDPR) – performance of a contract or steps prior to entering into a contract;
- Article 6(1)(f) GDPR – the legitimate interests of the controller to ensure secure, transparent, and properly documented reconciliation of intercompany balances.
2.2. Compliance with Legal Requirements
To ensure compliance with the Accounting Law of the Republic of Latvia and good practices in accounting organisation, as well as to provide evidence required by auditors in the course of independent financial statement audits.
Legal basis:
- Article 6(1)(c) GDPR – compliance with a legal obligation.
2.3. Voluntary Identity Verification
If a user chooses to perform identity verification (via Smart-ID or eParaksts Mobile), personal data is processed in order to increase the reliability of the submitted information.
Legal basis:
- Article 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent of the data subject.
3. Categories of Personal Data Processed
The System may process the following categories of personal data:
3.1. Identification Data
- First name and last name
- Personal identification number (if identity verification is performed)
- Date of birth (if identity verification is performed)
- Country of residence (if identity verification is performed)
3.2. Contact Data
- E-mail address
- Telephone number (provided voluntarily)
By providing a telephone number, the user agrees that it may be included in reconciliation documents and used for communication purposes related to clarification of submitted data.
3.3. Transaction and Reconciliation Data
- Information contained in reconciliation requests
- Submitted amounts and relevant dates
- User comments
- Information contained in attached documents
3.4. Technical Data
- IP address
- Access and authorisation data
- System activity logs (for security purposes)
4. Source of Personal Data
Personal data is obtained only from the users of the System themselves or from companies initiating the reconciliation process and designating responsible contact persons.
5. Data Retention Period
Reconciliation requests and responses are stored for 9 (nine) months following the completion of the reconciliation process.
After the expiry of this period, the data is deleted.
Prior to deletion, the System sends the initiator of the reconciliation request a PDF archive containing the relevant information.
Where applicable laws require a longer retention period, personal data may be stored for a longer period in accordance with such legal requirements.
6. Disclosure of Personal Data
Saskano.lv does not disclose personal data to third parties except in the following cases:
- where required by applicable laws or requested by competent public authorities;
- where data processors are engaged for data processing purposes (for example hosting, IT maintenance, or identity verification service providers), with whom appropriate data processing agreements ensuring adequate data protection have been concluded.
Personal data is not transferred outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, unless appropriate safeguards are ensured in accordance with GDPR requirements.
7. Data Subject Rights
Users have the following rights:
- to request access to their personal data;
- to request correction of inaccurate personal data;
- to request erasure of personal data (unless a legal obligation to retain such data exists);
- to request restriction of processing;
- to object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- to receive their personal data in a structured, commonly used format (where applicable);
- to withdraw previously given consent (where processing is based on consent);
- to lodge a complaint with the Data State Inspectorate of Latvia (www.dvi.gov.lv).
To exercise their rights, users may contact the Controller using the contact details provided above.
The System does not perform automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
8. Security
Personal data is processed and protected in accordance with the GDPR, the applicable laws of the Republic of Latvia, and best industry practices in information security.
Saskano.lv implements appropriate technical and organisational measures proportionate to the risks involved in order to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data.
The System applies appropriate security measures, including:
- access code authorisation;
- voluntary identity verification via Smart-ID or eParaksts Mobile;
- access rights restrictions;
- protection of data transmission;
- maintenance of security logs.
9. Cookies
The System uses only technical cookies necessary for maintaining user sessions and ensuring the proper functioning of the System.
No analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies are used.
10. Amendments to the Privacy Policy
Saskano.lv reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy.
The current version is always available within the System.
